What is a Garden?

Now we know that you know what a garden actually is physically but what does it stand for? We believe that gardens - first and foremost - are for people.

Too often the word 'garden' conjures up visions of soil and secateurs, mulches and manures, niceties of horticultural technique and continual hard work.

Space is an ever more precious commodity - and so limited and expensive in towns and cities.

In order to make the most of any space it is necessary to break free from preconceptions of the nature of the garden - where it should be and the things it should, or should not, contain.

Many design elements and design techniques can be combined to produce stunning effects - plants are just one of these.

The garden is an outdoor room, which can be furnished with urns, pots, trellis, sculpture and comfortable seats to give a lasting pleasure for the minimum effort.

Conversely there can be an enormous attraction in that most pleasing of pastimes - working in one's garden.

The key to realising the potential of gardens is to decide what YOU want from YOUR garden.
