We recently added an article to the Keen Gardener website with tips on how to grow fruit trees and previously one on how to grow soft fruit. If you have taken our advice and have grown your own, you may notice you, your friends and family are not the only ones enjoying the fresh newly grown fruit.

During the warmer months you may not be the only one enjoying lazy summer days in your garden. Your garden will become a haven for wildlife so keep an eye out for the little visitors. You may easily notice the population of birds steadily increasing including the addition of blackbird, thrush and robin chicks, but your garden will also become attractive to hedgehogs, rabbits, frogs, squirrels and even badgers.

Keep your pest problems to a minimum by installing animal/insect habitats into your garden. By encouraging ladybirds into your garden you can be sure to reduce to number of pesky aphids which feed on your plants. A natural predator of greenfly and blackfly, the ladybird will be a welcome addition and help keep pests infestations under control.
